How to file a bug:
Read this page to see what information we expect from you in order to fix a problem in less than one hour.

Always get the right version:
Always read the version from inside of BASER exe file. To do this, right click on BASER.EXE and select 'Properties'. Then go to 'Version' tab. That information is always correct.

Unpack the ZIP/RAR:
We will compress BASER package with RAR because it can generate a file much smaller than ZIP. WinRAR is available at https://www.rarlab.com.

Make a screen-shot:
It is always good to send a screen shot if the problem is complex or hard to describe in words. Press 'Print screen' key. Then open your image editor and press 'Paste'. Save the new image as GIF, PNG, JPG or JPG 2000 and send it to us. The quality of the image does not have to be perfect. It is important to see just the bug/error area. Do not save it as BMP unless you compress it with ZIP or RAR first. We also do not recommend TIFF or TGA because of low compression or poor image quality.

Recommended image editors:
    Windows Paint - the choice of the poor man. Total lack of features. On old operating systems it support only BMP format. Freeware.
    Irfan - Still freeware but with lots and lots of useful features.
    PaintShopPro - Very good. Shareware.
    MS Word - can be used as a rudimentary image processing tool.

Switch to BT mode/Unlock hidden features:
If you switch DNA Baser to BT mode, you can unlock features that are not yet 100% ready or not available for the public. Do not report a bug for a feature that is under construction. Wait to be declared ready.
To switch to BT mode, put (create) an empty file without extension, called 'betatester' in DNA BASER's folder.
To create a file without extension, use:
-Windows Explorer. In Explorer right click in and empty area, then go to 'New -> Text document'. Then delete the '.txt' extension. OR
-Total Commander. Total Commander can create a file without extension by pressing Shift+F4 keys together. Total Commander can be found here.

The debugger. View the debug messages:
In special cases, DNA Baser can broadcast special debug messages. If you are instructed to do it so, then download this debugger and run it to catch those messages. With this program, you can view the messages from your whole system (Microsoft Windows and all installed applications) not only from DNA Baser so it is a pretty useful toy.

How to install the debugger?
You don't have to install it or un-install it. Just download it and run it. When you are done, delete it.

How to use this debugger?
It is very easy to use this tool so don't be scared, you don't need to be an expert.
The first and the only rule is to start this debugger before starting DNA Baser else it will not catch any messages. So if DNA Baser is already started, the close it, start the debugger and finally start DNA Baser. You don't have to make any settings in debugger. It is already set to do its job.
You will see that some messages (send by DNA Baser) will appear in debugger.
Save the messages (menu 'File -> Save') and send it to us.
